Giuseppe, the shepherd, provides endless calm, Antonio produce delicious cheese, ham and wine from the self-harvested natural products, which are then transformed from eldest into hearty comfort food. A remarkable artist also joins in. Certainly, he does not help in the daily life of the farm, but he definitely keeps the guests impressed with his sculptures placed all around the meadow. These sculptures made from different materials- like iron, terracotta, stone, and wood - represent lonely thinkers, couples in love or animals in theatrical positions and give a poetic note to this idyllic place. Agriculture and art, two very separated worlds today, join here in symbiosis.
From the country road a small post signals the beginning of approx. 900 mt gravel road to the 'Agriturismo Costiolu' that in Sardinian means "small Holm oak". Along this road you can enjoy the stunning surrounding, 150 hectares of farm field, until you finally reach an iron goat sculpture standing on a granite rock that indicates the beginning of the real property. Here you can leave the vehicle and inhale the nice scented Mediterranean mountain air.
The house surrounds a characteristic inner court with a colorful horse mosaic, roofed pergola and picturesque containers for the daily use.
In the left of the building is the house of the owners, the common dining room with fireplace, as well as two double rooms with common bathroom on the first floor.
In the middle on the ground floor there is a big dining room with bar that is used nowadays only for special occasions and the visible iron rings on its walls reminds of its former function as a cowshed. However on the upper floor were accommodated the rest of the rooms and only four have their En-suite bathroom with shower, WC and wash basin, while the others share a bathroom in two.
Moreover, the owners use different separated rooms for the keeping of homemade wine, marmalade, cheese, sausage and ham.
Sheep, goats, donkeys and horses don't have access to the courtyard so that you can have it at free disposal and you can enjoy the surrounding fields.

The farm Costiolu keeps its promises: a relaxing vacation conscious of life and close to the animals in a good starting location for varied days out! Therefore it's the right place for families and couples that do not care much about a stylish accommodation and give a special emphasis to a warm family ambiance.

The original little mountain city of Nuoro, as well as the surrounding villages of Oliena and Bitti grants an encounter with the Sardinian tradition still alive here today.
A natural, nearly virgin mountain world with centuries-old forests, Canyons like the famous " Su Gorroppu ", which belongs to the deepest ravines of Europe. But you also find mysterious archaeological sites - among them the Nuragic village of "Tiscali" - and delightful art craft only to name a few.
Furthermore in approximately one-hour trip you get from Nuoro to the touristy coastal village of Cala Gonone where the most beautiful beaches can only be reached by boat or impressive footpaths.
A little bit farther north, in the bay of Orosei, you are spoiled by a choice of wonderful sandy beaches, and there a visit of the antique small town of Posada is worth a day trip.
In this region of Sardinia, rather unknown up till now, you can experience an active holiday rich in excursions with climbing tours and hiking trips that you can unite with relaxing beach days.
