 |
Typical of the area: To the south of Cala Gonone there is one of the longest, car free, coastal strechtes of Sardinia. They can be visited either on foot or with regularly organized boat trips. The area is especially ideal for climbers and trekkers.

| Grotta Bue Marino |
This limestone cave belongs to the most beautiful one of Sardinia. Till few years ago the monk seals lived here and gave their name to the cave. You can reach the cave only with organized boat excursions from Cala Gonone, Santa Maria Navarrese and Arbatax.

| Cala Luna |
A very beautiful sandy beach often taken as a picture on advertising, symbolising the intact nature of Sardinia. The bay is framed by rock and caves with high oleander bushes behind. Reaching it is only possible with a trek of approximately 3 hours by the ravine of Codula di Luna or with an organized boat excursion from Cala Gonone, Santa Maria Navarrese or Arbatax.

Small mountain village where the houses would amaze you with their antique, architectural peculiarities. The castle ruin of "Castello di Pontes", from the 12th century, would also be worth visiting.

| Grotta di Ispingoli |
Conveniently along the highway SS 125 between Dorgali and Orosei. This worth seeing limestone cave has probably the biggest stalactite of Europe (approx. 38 meters with approx. 2 meters of diameter), in the middle of a circular cave. This cave is named Ispingoli that translated means " thorn in the neck ". In ancient times it was already a cult site for the Phoenicians and the Punics.

| Orosei |
The historical place Orosei lies underneath the mountain Monte Tuttavista (806 m), only few kilometers from the sea, and was already a town in the early Middle Age. Today Orosei has 5000 inhabitants and its small, historic local centre with a characteristic "Piazzetta", medieval and baroque buildings, together with beautiful sacred buildings gives to the place a typical local and mediterranean atmosphere.

| Oliena and Corrasi Mountain range |
Oliena, small town with approximately 7.700 inhabitants, has a beautiful old part of town and it's known for a great cuisine, the red wine " Cannonau di Nepente ", the handmade embroideries. But also for the exhibition " Cortes Apertas " in September and not least for Easter celebrations. It lies in panoramic position in the Supramonte of Oliena, 400 ms above sea level. With " Monte Corrasi " representing the highest elevation of the Supramonte. Its summit reaches 1.463 ms.

| Su Gologone Spring |
An important fresh water spring of Sardinia with an average quantity of water of 300 lts / second. It lies in the forest of the same name and can be visited with a short walk.

| Valley of Lanaittu |
In this valley you can visit the nuragic site of "Carros", and the caves of " Sa Oche ", " Su Bentu " and "Corbeddu".

| Tiscali |
Nuraghi village inside of a swallet, at 515 meters height over the Lanaittu valley. You can reach it in approximately 2 hours on foot.

| Gola di Gorroppu |
Impressive gorge (river Flumineddu) between the Supramonte of Orgosolo and Urzulei with vertical limestone walls 400 ms high, approximately 12 kms to the south of Dorgali. The first 1.5 kms are an easy walk, but the rest of the Canyons can be reached only with good trekking equipment.

| Nuoro |
It's the bigger city inland. In the Ethnology Museum of Nuoro you can view the Sardinian mask and dress collection, with gold jewellery and other objects of Sardinian artcraft. Furthermore, in the centre of Nuoro you find the birthplace house of the commemorate Nobel price for literature (1926) Grazia Deledda. She was the first woman who was distinguished with the title. Besides, at the central Piazza Sebastiano Satta you can also admire the stone sculpture of the Sardinian artist Costantino Nivola.

A village known for its mural paintings ("Murales") which were expression of the political, economic and social protests mostly in the 60s.

Typical Mountain Village that helds a masks museum and many archaeologic sites. Besides, it is known for culinary specialities.

Sant'Antonio Abate, Mamuthones and Isso'adores in Mamoiada |
The celebration to honour the saint Antonio Abate introduces officially the Sardinian carnival. During the day is the beginning of celebration for Mamuthones and Isso'adores. That go around the village dressed in dark sheep fur with a big mask from cherry or chestnut wood and on the shoulders cow bells up to 35 kilos.
