Small village in the Tirso valley on a basalt plateau. In the local center there are still some houses from the 16th and 17th Centuries. It stands out particularly between these buildings a house with beautiful Porticos and pillars in Catalan Gothic style.

| Nuraghe Losa |
This is the most important Nuraghe of southwest Sardinia. In the nearby of Abbasanta, a Monument out of the prehistoric culture of Sardinia. The tower originates from the year 1000 before Christ, the bastion from between the 8th and 7th Century before Christ. And the rings from the 7th Century before Christ.

Antique Nuraghe Complex and sacred well from the 9th Century b.C, about 3 km southwest of Abbasanta, close to Paulilatino. You can reach this highly visited site easily from a posted exit on the 'Carlo Felice' motorway SS131.

| Fordongianus |
Pictorial place on the bank of the river Tirso (in close proximity to Oristano), formerly the Roman settlement 'forum Traiani' and the bishop seat between the V and X century. The place is also visited for the ruins of the Roman Thermal baths where the springs warm up to 54 degrees C.

| Bidonì |
The witch museum opened in the old city hall of Bidonì in 2004. "S'omo 'e Sa Marza" (literally the witch house) lies in the province of Oristano with a view to the Omodeo lake (largest artificial lake in Italy). The exhibition documents the history of the witches in Sardinia from the old to the modern times, and describes typical rituals and reasons of the local witchcraft.

| Santulussurgiu |
This village is 500 mt above sea level, below the Montiferru Mountain and is an important center for horse breeding in Sardinia. Here in the first days of June takes place annually a horse race in the old part of town. Worth seeing is also the museum of farming technology: 'Museo della Tecnologia Contadina'.

A small village close to Santulussurgiu with a mineral spring water supply, which flows constantly at 11 degrees Celsius from seven sources (Siete Fuentes). In this village you also find the Roman Pisane church of the same name, San Leonardo.

| Monte Sant'Antonio by Macomer |
7 Km southwest of Macomer, in direction of Santulussurgiu is the worth visiting excavation site of Tamulì. With 6 conical Menhirs made of basalt, the so-called Betili (perdas marmuradas).Three are hill shaped, and represent the feminine element clearly, the other three are instead male, and represent the phallic symbol. There are also a Nuraghe with still intact stone huts and the remains of 3 graves of the Giants.

| Oristano |
This city was created in the year 1070 west of Sardinia, a rich fishing area. In the historical old part of town you can visit the Marian Cathedral (1128) and its vault, as well as the tower of Mariano II Torre di Mariano II (1291) and the gothic church of Santa Chiara from the 14th century. In the Palazzo Parpaglia are kept the archaeological pieces of finds from Tharros and from medieval Oristano.

| Phoenician-Roman city of Tharros |
Antique harbour, built in 730 b. C. as a stop for merchant ships coming from the Mediterranean area. From 238 b. C. Tharros became a rich Roman city. Baths, houses and cult places are found in the south side, while in the north part you can find a Tophet (sacrifice place) and the Nuraghe village of Murru Mannu.

The so-called 'Stagno di Cabras' is the largest lagoon of the peninsula. With its waters rich of fish is also one of the largest wetland areas of the island.

Historical city at the riverbank of the Temo. It's worth doing the 500 meters long bank promenade 'de Gasperi' starting from the bridge 'Ponte Vecchio', with the abandoned tanneries 'Sas Conzas' at the left river bank. You can visit the late baroque, Piedmontese cathedral in the old part of town with a Catalan Mary Statue from the 16th Century, the small Pinacoteca Civica (Casa Deriu, in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II number 59) and finally the castle 'Castello Malaspina' from the 12th Century with its church Nostra Signora di Regnos Altos from the 14th Century and a series of Catalan frescos.

Sartiglia in Oristano |
The Sartiglia takes place on the Sunday of Carnival and Tuesday after. It's a spectacular rider tournament that goes back to the 16th Century. The different guilds represent the groups of riders and must spear a silver star hanging over the distance while galloping. The number of these stars is classified as sign of coming harvests. After the tournament, riding acrobats show their amazing skills with horses. This event is particularly important and very much appreciated by the local population and it's becoming well known to the tourist that come numerously every year.

| San Salvatore festival "Corsa degli Scalzi" (Barefoot Run) in Cabras |
On the first Sunday of September of each year a very worth seeing procession takes place in Cabras:Hundreds of young men, only dressed with a white frock, take the statue of the saint in Cabras and carry it barefoot 6 km to the remote church of San Salvatore. The following day they carry the statue back to the parish church of Cabras running. The devotion and solemnity that come with the event last nine days and it's not to be missed.

| S'Ardia horse race-Sedilo |
On the 6th and 7th July the perhaps most famous rural celebration of Sardinia takes place in Sedilo. And it culminates in the so-called S'Ardia, a bareback horse race that symbolizes the victory of Constantine over Maxentius.
