Castelsardo was founded like Alghero at the beginning of the 12th century by the aristocrat's family Doria. The castle, still in good condition, is looking over since the 13th century on this volcanic hill. During clear days from the castle terraces you can have a sight of Corsica and the Asinara island.

Approximately 14 km long sandy beach, about 20 kms of distance from Badesi.

The island Asinara belonged to the Gennargentu National Park and offers safety to rare birds of prey, sea birds, Mufflons, wild boars, as well as the unique, white donkeys (asini bianchi). Also due to the rare plant types and holm oaks is an interesting place of research for Botanists.

The university town of Sassari is the second largest and second most important city in respect of economics, politics and culture. It's worth to be mentioned the oldest part of town with buildings from the most different epochs, the archaeologic museum Sanna, the cathedral San Nicola (15th century Aragonian-Catalan Gotic style), the monastic church of Santa Maria di Betlemme, as well as the centre of town around Piazza Italia. And the Romanique church of San Pietro in Silki in the outskirts of Sassari. A car-free visit of the centre is recommended (lots of entangled narrow roads).

| Monte d'Accodi |
Singular terraced altar mountain around the Mediterranean and Europe. It resembles in its form a Mesopotamian Ziqqurat (temple of the sun). The birth of this enclosure can be dated back to 4200 years b.C.. It lies between Sassari and Porto Torres.

| Santissima Trinità di Saccargia |
Impressive church close to Sassari in Pisan Romanesque style (alternate stripes of black basalt with white limestone), started in 1116 and finished in 1200. Restored at last at the beginning of the 20th century.

| Tempio Pausania |
A picturesque little granite town in the Limbara mountains. It lies approximately 600 mts above sea level, in the midst of impressive granite rocks and antique cork oak forests.

| Nuraghe Maiori |
One of the best kept megalithic enclosures in Gallura. (Highway SP133, close to Tempio Pausania)

Easter Procession Lunissanti in Castelsardo |
The Procession of Lunissanti with Gregorian singings is very worth seeing. It's held on Easter Monday in Castelsardo, and begins in the medieval church of Santa Maria. The ceremony originates from the 14th Century and today is celebrated exactly the same way.

| Cavalcata Sarda and I Candelieri in Sassari |
Cavalcata Sarda is held in May the Sunday before the last: One of the largest folk procession, with traditional costumes, decorated carriages and horses, as well as rider competitions. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I Candelieri - 14th of August: This celebration goes back to the 16th century and represents the most important traditional meeting in Sassari. The traditionally dressed members of the craftsman and worker guilds carry on their shoulders nine decorated candles (weighting about 400 kg each). And they transport them from the Palazzo della città to the church Santa Maria di Betlemme.
