Portixeddu (municipality of Buggerru) lies in the southwest of Sardinia, in the province of Cagliari. The Subregion called Iglesiente (Iglesias is the main city) characterizes itself by the mining past of the island and the abandoned mines form fascinating industrial monuments. In Portixeddu just after it was found, was created a bathing resort on the sandy beach. The beach stretches for kilometers. It is surrounded by dunes which are covered with sweet and stone pine trees. Buggerru is a former mountain workers' housing estate with unique atmosphere and beautiful bath bay. The inspection of the " Galleria Henry " of the big mine on the plateau Planu Sartu is also highly recommended. The convenient, long beautiful sandy beach removed in 3 kms Fontanamare (Plag'e Mesu, Punt ' e S'arena, postage Paglia) belongs to the small place Gonnesa. Fantastic is the look to the shelving coast.
