The legal and administration offices are in Maintal - Germany.
However the travel agent personnel of MMV Reisen specialized in Sardinia destinations, have its offices on the island (look at Contact Info >>>), and thanks to their foreign languages (English, German, Dutch, French, Italian, Slovak, Spanish) they can intermediate between customers and suppliers.

    How is the standard holiday apartment/house equipped?
Generally a standard holiday apartment/house is not equipped as well as a regular house. Heating and air-conditioning are not standard equipment, for instance. Beds in Sardinia are smaller and softer than in North European Countries (The standard length is 1.90 m and the standard width is 90 cm).

    What actual rental car do I get?
At the time of reservation, only the car group is guaranteed, however the model can always change, depending on current availability. This way we can avoid long waiting periods. However we can try to reserve a preferred model within the same Car group.

Price
    What extras are available and at what cost?
All available extras are specified separately in the price section. Bed linen and towels are not always included in the price. And so it's the air conditioning and heating. All extras are payable locally.

    What are the price ranges within the holiday apartments/houses?
Sardinia offers different holidays resorts. The more infrastructures, services and leisure offer the higher the price.

    Can you explain me the price tables of the accommodations?
With the holiday houses, apartments and Yacht charts the weekly price includes all mandatory additional expenses (water, electricity, gas and final cleaning). These weekly prices are normally based on the maximum sleeping capacity. Prices with hotels, Club hotels, Apartment hotels and Bed and Breakfast are always per person in Double rooms. Usually children can have a reduction only when they stay in the same room of the parents.

    What mandatory additional costs are due once in Sardinia?
It's not unusual to be asked to pay in loco for Club Cards of hotels, club hotels and hotel residences.
The exceptions and more info can be found in the price list of the accommodations concerned.
From 2007 the Region of Sardinia has introduced a tax of stay. Each village, town or city can decide whether they want to introduce it. The amount of this tax is not certain at this day (October 2007) and it does not appear on the price lists.

    Do I have to indicate the number and age of children and infants?
Infants and children are counted as guests and the number and age need to be indicated. State the age from the date of arrival.

    Can I bring another person if the holiday home has enough sleeping places?
You must inform MMV Reisen always before your travel commences. If the booked holiday home has enough sleeping places, no surcharge is required. If, however, the effective number is exceeded, you need to pay a surcharge and in any case you must obtain permission in writing by MMV Reisen.

    Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not permitted everywhere and you must advise MMV Reisen for permission at the time of reservation. A small surcharge is usually required.

    Would I save if I book directly from the hotel?
All hotels, apartments, guest rooms, Yacht charters and hired car prices indicated correspond to the official prices of our partners and during special offers in most cases can even be lower with MMV Reisen.
With hotels and apartment we also offer our 'best price guarantee': If you find within 24 hours of your booking the same accommodation with another agent or website at a lower price for the same period chosen by you, we match the lower price minus 1 € per person per day!

Enquiry
    How do I find out whether the holiday product I want is still available?
On each page of the catalogue you can find a link on the right that opens a pop up window with an availability chart. Also should the accommodation chosen by you be already full, a message appears automatically while you are filling out the enquiry form.It can also happen that in the availability chart some accommodations were blocked by other customers and therefore are not be able to be booked. To play safe, always contact the team of MMV Reisen.

    How do I make an enquiry?
There is an enquiry form on each holiday accommodation page. Fill this out completely and send it to us. You'll get an email with a quote within 48 hours (during our office opening hours).

    Is my enquiry of availability a commitment of purchase?
No, your enquiry is always non-committal. First make sure on the bases of the availability chart that the accommodation of your choice is still available than fill out the form. With an enquiry you are never obliged to book a property.

Reservation
    How do I make a booking?
For a booking we need a written reservation order from you by email, by filling an enquiry form or by fax. It should always contain all information.All products offered in the on-line catalogue can be enquired on-line and are able to be booked either online or also by email or fax. We discuss any reservation needs individually with you.

    When does my reservation become a commitment?
To make a booking we need a detailed, written reservation consent from you, which you can send to us either by E-Mail or fax. The reservation consent should contain the following details:
  • Period of stay
  • Time of arrival and departure (for holiday houses)
  • Name or reference number of holiday product.
  • Names of guests.
  • Exact number of participants/guests
  • Special wishes/requirements if any (cots, pets, heating or air conditioning etc.)
  • Telephone number
  • Address
  • Email address
  • Mobile/cell number

Reservation forms are checked by our travel agents at MMV Reisen for availability and only after you receive a written confirmation (generally within 48 hours) they are considered a payment commitment by you.
So there will be a subsequent withdraw of your first payment (20% of the total payment) 5 days after and 80% 6 weeks before you arrive to Sardinia.

     Can I also book at short notice?
All accommodations can be booked also last minute or even locally, this is only if we have received a written reservation by E-Mail or fax at MMV Reisen, and you communicate as reservation warranty your credit card details (VISA, MasterCard, Eurocard), including the three security numbers on the back of the card. The payment of the accommodation will take place however only locally. In case of a travel resignation your credit card will be charged according to the General Trading Conditions of MMV Reisen.

    Can I also book the desired accommodation for a day?
Unfortunately with holiday houses and apartments is not possible to book for a day except for some exceptions. In addition numerous hotels and club hotels are often only available on a weekly basis. On these cases a minimum stay is given in the Price tables.

    How do I block the desired accommodation, even if I am not sure yet?
If available you can ask at time of the enquiry for a two-day noncommittal option, in order to block the selected accommodation. This is recommended particularly for stays during busy times. After 48 hours it expires automatically.

    When and how do I ask for special requirements?
In the case of a reservation, MMV Reisen can pass on free special requirement to the hotel, club hotel or apartment hotel. The assignment of the appropriate room depends however on the respective hotel. If the special request has to be booked with a surcharge (balcony, sea view, garden view), it can usually be guaranteed by MMV Reisen.

    Which terms and conditions do I have to consider?
Before booking take a look at our General Terms and Conditions (GTC), that you can see at any time in the horizontal menu border of the online Catalogue. In case of reservation the GTC becomes automatically your travel contract.

    Do I get the actual booked accommodation?
When reserving holiday houses/apartments you always get a certain type of accommodation, with its own name and special characteristics. Even though the accommodation is assigned on the spot depending upon availability on arrival, the characteristics of the type chosen are guaranteed.

    Can someone else travel instead of the named guests?
A substitute person is generally no problem, but you should always inform your travel agent of MMV Reisen about it. Should the person named on the reservation decide not to travel anymore, the travel documents are reissued with an extra charge (according to the GTC, min 25 Euros).

    Can I still change the booking after receipt of the travel documents?
Yes but you will encounter a cancellation fee with a subsequent new reservation. Changes are only possible generally if they take place at least 46 days before the journey. In this case you will encounter a minimum of 25 Euros charge. However, if it is more than 46 days before, changes encounter a charge according to the appropriate cancellation fees (see GTC).

    How are cancellation processed?
A written explanation from your part is enough. Consider the appropriate cancellation fees, from our General Terms and Conditions (GTC). From MMV Reisen you get a final confirmation of the cancellation. In case of a 'No show' MMV Reisen applies the cancellation fee according to the GTC of 95%

    What the travel documents consist of and how do I get them?
Your travel documents consist generally of: a confirmation letter, invoice (only for hotels, club hotels, apartment resorts-hotels and flights combination), Insurance against insolvency of MMV Reisen GmbH (covering payments), Voucher, GTC, road directions and - with availability - also maps and info material.You can print all travel documents from your personal "My Sardinia" page directly at home. MMV Reisen transmits the link to this page, as well as your password and personal username to you electronically on the confirmation E-mail.

    What is a Voucher?
It's the voucher for the services booked by you. It's made of two copies with the customer details, personal number, all booked services, special requirements and extras. On arrival you need to present yourself to our service provider with this travel document. A copy stays with you, while the second copy is for the supplier (hotel, apartment resort, private partner, etc).

    Do I always receive an invoice?
You always get an invoice with reservation of hotels, apartment resorts, club hotels and flights. However no invoice is issued for reservations of transfer, car rentals, Bed and Breakfasts, mini hotels, sailing charts. In these cases MMV always trades as an authorized travel agent and not as a tour operator.Please note that the Insurance against insolvency covers all payment to MMV Reisen.

    Do I get a travel insurance automatically after booking?
Travel insurance is not included in the journey price; however, you can obtain one separately from our partners "Die Europäische" or "Elvia".

Payment
    Is the payment safe?
Insolvency insurance is always included for legal security (in accordance with ยง 651 Civil Code) with all payments to MMV Reisen. Therefore, an Insurance in electronic form with information of your individual reference number is prepared for you and add to the rest of the travel documents to your personal 'My Sardinia' page, assigned to you free with your username and password. In case of a bankruptcy of the firm this payment insurance would guarantee your money back from the insurance company.

     How does the payment process work?
With your travel documents you get the complete information for bank credit transfers to the German account of MMV Reisen GmbH. If your reservation is at least 7 weeks before the holiday begins, the first payment of 20% has to be paid to us after reception of the travel documents. A payment confirmation will be forwarded to your E-mail. The 80% balance is due no later than 6 weeks before your arrival. You will get then another confirmation by email.

    Can I pay with a Credit Card?
Unfortunately credit card payments are not available yet.

    How do I pay for a short notice reservation?
If a reservation takes place less than 2 weeks before the journey begins, the payment can take place with a written letter (by fax) with all credit card details and payment are charged only on the spot. With holiday houses and apartments the payment of the total amount is only payable in cash. In some hotels, guesthouses, B&Bs, apartment residences the payment amount is due the day before departure and can be paid in cash or sometimes credit cards.

    How do I pay for the rental car?
With hired cars the payment always takes place on the spot by acceptance of the booked vehicle. But you must have informed MMV Reisen upon reservation as a guarantee your credit card details. The payment of the hired car, possible extras, as well as the deposit for the damage excess can take place either in cash or by credit card.

    What is the best way to arrive to Sardinia?

    What do I need for my travel to Sardinia?
Always take your travel documents for the hotels, club hotels and apartment arrangements and remember your passport or ID card. The road directions map contains also all the important telephone numbers. And do not forget that your voucher is needed upon check in at your chosen accommodation.

    What time do I have to be at the accommodation?
Hotel rooms are usually free and ready as a rule from 14.00 and must be left on the day of departure most of the times no later than 11 o'clock. Holiday houses/ apartments are available always only in the afternoons from 16.00 / 17.00 and must be left on the day of departure no later than 10 o'clock in the morning.

    How can I find my booked House or Apartment?
You get from us the exact road directions with all important telephone numbers. Also on the road direction map there is the exact meeting place in which you should be at the pre-arranged time. Our contact partner will accompany you then to your booked house/apartment.

    What do I do in case of delays?
Inform your travel specialist by telephone of known delays always in time. Furthermore we ask you to contact us if our partner has not arrived at the meeting point after more than 15 minutes. You find the appropriate telephone number on the Voucher as well as on the road direction map. With holiday homes and apartments extra fees are charged with arrival after a certain time. Please have a look at these on the price table of the appropriate on-line catalogue page.

    Do I need to give a deposit on the spot?
In the case of apartment resorts, holiday houses and apartments usually you need to give a deposit on the spot upon arrival in cash, which is refunded only during the day of departure, assumed everything is still in order as you found it before your stay. In this case your Voucher serves, as a proof of the deposit payment and it needs to be counter signed.

    Why do I need to pay a deposit?
The security serves for covering all losses or accidents that can occur during your stay in the house/apartment, as well as in the garden, resort area or while using equipment of the holiday accommodation.With major losses that exceed the amount of the deposit, you should get in touch immediately by telephone with your travel agent of MMV Reisen. The owner of the apartment/house can withhold a part of the deposit if you leave the rented accommodation without cleaning the tableware and sweeping the floor. Please also in this case, get in touch immediately before your departure with the travel agent of MMV Reisen.

    What is a customer checking sheet?
With some holiday accommodations the security deposit is replaced with one with a customer-checking sheet to be signed at arrival and departure. This serves for the regular check up of the accommodation. All existing losses before arrival are wrote on this list, and possible mishaps occurred during the stay will be added in writing. The customer is responsible for all caused losses and can be prosecuted up to arrival of the next customer, or to max. 12 hours after his/her departure for not indicating losses.

    When and how should I notify of a lack of service during my stay?
Service and/or performance lack must be notify to the MMV Reisen travel agent by telephone immediately after the occurrence locally, so that a solution can be carried out immediately. Please consider your obligation to cooperate, in order to contribute to a solution of the incident and to keep a possible developing damage small. After the end of the stay incidents are not considered any longer.

Accommodation
    What bed linen and covers are used in double beds?
In Italy generally double beds are made of a single mattress and covered with double bed sheets. Duvets/quilts are not common but instead there is big double bed blankets made of wool.

    How are the kitchen units fitted out in the holiday apartments/houses?
Kitchens of holiday houses and apartments offer generally enough tableware, cutlery and pots for the admitted number of guests. However, equipment like spices, food, detergents, dishcloths and tea cloths are not present for obvious hygienic reasons. Therefore, it is advisable to bring these either from home or to purchase them on the spot.

    Does the air conditioning supply only cold air?
Air-conditioners supply cold as well as warm air. Hence these types of accommodations are also winter proof.

    Is the tap water also drinkable?
The tap water is not always also drinkable. Therefore, the tap water should be used preferably only for hygienic purposes like in Torre dei Corsari and Tortoli. In Torre dei Corsari the accommodations are regularly supplied with water canisters for cooking purposes, while in Tortoli you should use tap water for cooking only after it's being boiled, but for the preparation of coffee or tea, however, use exclusively mineral water.

    Can the water supply be lacking during power failure?
To guarantee a continuous water supply also during the dry summer months, many accommodations have special water tanks. Because they work with electric pumps, the water supply can stop with power failure. Please advise our partners on the spot that can offer the necessary assistance.
