The small city of Bosa is in the Planargia, on the west coast of Sardinia, and lies directly on the only navigable river of Sardinia. The first foundation-stones of this city were built by the Phoenicians on the left bank of the Temo. However, in the late Middle Ages Bosa was appointed under Spanish dominion a royal city. The traces of the past left a lot of atmosphere and a picturesque feel to this city.

| Bosa |
The medieval part of town distinguishes itself by narrow streets with cobblestones, characteristic squares and picturesque street cafés. Parallel to the river runs " Corso Vittorio Emanuele " with aristocratic buildings and gold-smith's workshops. It's also worth to take a walk along the river bank promenade " Via Lungo Temo A. De Gasperi ".
In the left riverbank you can visit " Sas Conzas ", today abandoned, picturesque tanneries. The Marian Cathedral, a late-baroque, Piemontese Cathedral with a Catalan Mary Statue from the 16th century is also worth seeing. Above the roofs of the oldest part of town rises the castle ruin of the " Castello Malaspina " (12th century). You can reach it with a few snaky paths from the old town. Once there you can enjoy a beautiful Panorama.
The single still well-mantained building is the church of Nostra Signora di Regnos Altos from the 14th century. That holds a rare, Catalan series of frescos.
Inside " Casa Deriu " in Corso Vittorio Emanuele II number 59 there is another small picture gallery.
