From Badesi, a small village on a hill, you can enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of the Golfo dell’Asinara, as well as the island Corsica. The 14 km long sandy beach of Badesi Mare lies approximately 3 kms of Badesi. Isola Rossa is a small fishing village with adjacent sandy bay and red, porphyry rocks, ideal for snorkeling. The coastal stretch of Costa Paradiso is a beautiful holiday paradise embedded in the cliff bays. The "Paradise Coast" with its cleft, red porphyry rocks fulfills all holiday wishes to active people or the one who are after a sun beach vacation.

Typical of the area: Red porphyry rocks in Costa Paradiso (Paradise Coast) and the sandy bay of " La Marinedda " with Isola Rossa (Red Island) and a kilometer-long sandy beach close to Badesi.

| Castelsardo |
Just as Alghero, Castelsardo was built at the beginning of the 12th century by the aristocrat family Doria and it stands on an old volcanic land. It's worth visiting the castle with its entangled alleys, beautiful panoramic points and artisan basket museum.

Here you can view prehistoric stone tools (museum of Perfugas), as well as a holy fountain and the picturesque country church of San Giorgio (about 1 km outside Perfugas).

The university town of Sassari is the second largest and second most important city in respect of economics, politics and culture. It's worth to be mentioned the oldest part of town with buildings from the most different epochs, the archaeological museum Sanna, the cathedral San Nicola (15th century Aragonian-Catalan Gothic style), the monastic church of Santa Maria di Betlemme, as well as the centre of town around Piazza Italia. And the Romanique church of San Pietro in Silki in the outskirts of Sassari. A car-free visit of the centre is recommended (lots of entangled narrow roads).

Singular terraced altar mountain around the Mediterranean and Europe. It resembles in its form a Mesopotamian Ziqqurat (temple of the sun). The birth of this enclosure can be dated back to 4200 years b. C. It lies between Sassari and Porto Torres.

Easter Procession of Lunisanti in Castelsardo |
The Procession of “Lunissanti” with Gregorian singings is very worth seeing. It's held on Easter Monday in Castelsardo, and begins in the medieval church of Santa Maria. The ceremony originates from the 14th Century and today is celebrated exactly the same way.

| Cavalcata Sarda and I Candelieri in Sassari |
Cavalcata Sarda is held in May the Sunday before the last: One of the largest folk procession, with traditional costumes, decorated carriages and horses, as well as rider competitions. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I Candelieri - 14th of August: This celebration goes back to the 16th century and represents the most important traditional meeting in Sassari. The traditionally dressed members of the craftsman and worker guilds carry on their shoulders nine decorated candles (weighting about 400 kg each). And they transport them from the “Palazzo della città” to the church Santa Maria di Betlemme.
