This typical and secluded 4 star hotel was opened only in July 2004 and represents one of few Country hotels of Sardinia. A rural but comfortable accommodation, typical local food, as well as great opportunities for horse riding lovers complete the picture.

Really close to the small village of Abbasanta a narrow, winding road leads to the isolated country hotel " Mandra Edera ". Its entrance was not asphalted and brings purposely the arriving guests to a much slower rhythm of life. This is the ideal place to relax!

When you get to the car park the view is submersed with the ancient cork oak forest. The trees are the main characters of this charming property and give great shades opportunity on sunny days.

On the right of the car park was built a stable featuring floral motives. It's the perfect home for the Sardinian horses that live here.

A bit farther on the right there is a rectangular pavilion with wide glass facade and partly decorated with smith-iron pieces of furniture. This is where the small reception of the hotel was accommodated. From here narrow footpaths lead to the detached bungalow suites, to the pool area and to the main building where the restaurant, a lounge with bar, a small boutique and the rest of the hotel rooms are.

The peculiarity of the ground level and spacious suites bungalow is not only their secluded position among the impressive trees. The big French windows give a great view of the surrounding garden from the living room, and they are all decorated with pleasant and elegant furniture.
The pool area was consciously built detached from the other facilities to give the guests an opportunity to relax unnoticed. It also features a semi- covered pool with a Jacuzzi, a bar and a small fitness room. In the warmer guests can use the outdoor swimming pool with terrace, while in winter the interior part of the pool gets heated.

In the evening guests can expect to find the cook and sometimes the nice owners' family in the pleasant dining room. This area was decorated with wood and thanks to the easy observable kitchen the guests can look over the chef's shoulder while preparing the dishes.

Immediately near the restaurant area a beautiful living room was furnished with sofas and it also accommodates a bar. Moreover, in the same building there is a small boutique owned by the hotel that sells products of Sardinian artisans and typical local products.

In the same building and on the ground floor there are two double rooms with common bathroom. And on the higher floor there are three antique-style double rooms with ensuite bathroom.

This hotel is ideal for all those who wish a quiet, restful accommodation with a warm atmosphere and riding possibilities or look for an ideal starting point to discover this charming and not yet well-known part of Sardinia.

The Country Hotel Mandra Edera lies in the Province of Oristano that even though it's not as well-known it is still delightful and charming.
It offers secluded picturesque villages, impressive high plateaus, river valleys, idyllic mountain regions, numerous beaches with white sand or quartz sand.
And also fascinating protected areas, where also to this day rare birds, which have become extinct in other parts of Europe for a long time, make their nest.

For instance you can find flamingos all year round in the lagoons all around Oristano and Riola Sardo and can observe them eating the tiny crabs that make their plumage pink.

The province of Oristano is also exceptionally interesting culturally. Phoenician and Roman finding sites, menhirs, pagan fountain temples and prehistoric nuraghi, as well as a distinct fishing tradition with unique boats made of reed, named "Fassonis".

On the basis of archaeological finds historians stated that the first hunters and gatherers settled around the Monte Arci, at the southern tip of this province already six thousand years before Christ.

Not to forget is also the horse riding tradition widespread around Oristano. In regards to this a visit to the traditional Carnival of the city of Oristano is worthwhile itself. During which a fascinating horse riders' tournament is held in the historical old part of town. The traditional dressed jockeys compete in collecting metal stars, which hang on a line, with a sword while galloping.

It lies inland in the locality of 'Dominariu Mandra Edera', only few kilometers from the village of Abbasanta.

All 13 rooms dispose of telephone, Internet connection, Sat TV, mini bar, air-conditioner and safe. Almost all rooms have an ensuite bathroom with hairdryer, shower, WC, bidet and washbasin.
